Meet
PETER
I am a freelance composer, music director, playwright and performer who loves exploring the intersection of sound and story. For over twenty years, my artistic home was Ten Thousand Things Theater in Minneapolis. (www.tenthousandthings.org).
Originally working with the company as an actor, I quickly transitioned to overseeing music and sound, a role that fundamentally shaped my approach to composition and how music can help tell a compelling story. Collaboration is the heartbeat of my process and the thing that nourishes me as an artist. I embed myself in rehearsals from day one, working with actors, directors and designers to ensure the music and soundscape are integrated into the fabric of the performance. I believe in the power of shared imagination to create experiences where transformation is possible.
After raising three children, my husband and I now make our home on Hatteras Island in North Carolina. Companies I’ve worked with since relocating include Playmakers Repertory Company (Chapel Hill, NC), Delaware Shakespeare (Wilmington, DE), and Asolo Repertory Theatre (Sarasota, FL).

Select Creations
Hamlet Suite
A collection of themes from the 2023 Playmakers Repertory Company production of Hamlet used for preshow music in the lobby of the theater.
FOR GREG
A song that emerged from my involvement at the Composer/Librettist Studio at New Dramatists in NYC in 2020. The singer, Cree Carrico, provided the subject matter which Morgan Gould then crafted into lyrics and I set to music.
Perfect Couple
A duet written with my pal, Matt Freeman during the pandemic lockdown as we tried to keep ourselves creative and sane. Performed by Cree Carrico and Ben Lohrberg.

Meet the members of the Oyster Shuck Island Players as they navigate life, love and the challenges of creating art in an isolated community. This tuneful, fast-paced love story follows Charlie, a reclusive school custodian finding his voice as a director, and the new school counselor, Rose, rediscovering what it means to truly connect. They're joined by a cast of quirky characters all emerging from the pandemic lockdown in a story that explores identity, transformation, and the pursuit of passion through the comedic lens of theatrical life where relationships are forged, discoveries made, and secrets revealed.
