Meet the members of the Oyster Shuck Island Players as they navigate life, love and the challenges of creating art in an isolated community. This tuneful, fast-paced love story follows Charlie, a reclusive school custodian finding his voice as a director, and the new school counselor, Rose, rediscovering what it means to truly connect. They're joined by a cast of quirky characters all emerging from the pandemic lockdown in a story that explores identity, transformation, and the pursuit of passion through the comedic lens of theatrical life where relationships are forged, discoveries made, and secrets revealed.

The custodian at the local school. A voracious reader. Mysterious and shy. Tenor.
DOLORES
(60s-80s) The Grande Dame of the local theater community who directs all the plays. No nonsense approach to theater and life. Mezzo.
ROSE
(Late 30s) The school guidance counselor. The isolation of the Covid pandemic has left its mark. Pleasant and patient. Soprano with a strong legit sound.
LYDIA
(40s) The school librarian, President of the theater company, dramaturg and occasional cast member in their plays. Detail oriented. Perfectionist. Mezzo with a belt.
LEO
(30s) Handsome leading man and surfer. Occasional flashes of flamboyance. His physical appearance is irrelevant. The important thing is that he sees himself as handsome and the others follow suit. Baritone.
VICKI
(50s-60s) She stage manages all the productions. Her ability to fix things as well as her desire to please others is only surpassed by her generous heart. Alto, character voice.
MARJORIE
(17) Cheerleader. Tommy's girlfriend. Enthusiasm personified. She is LOUD.
The actor playing VICKI also plays Marjorie.
TOMMY
(17) Captain of the football team. Vicki's nephew. Marjorie's boyfriend. Sincere. Sweet. A bit of a lunk.
